Baby Blessing and Baby Photos

Well as I am sure many of you know our little pea came to us on Sept. 24th at 9pm. She weighed in at a whopping 6 pds 13 oz. For those who don't know that is at best tiny in our families. It has been a wonderful experience being a parent. We don't sleep as much as we want or do a lot of things that we used too however, we wouldn't change it for the world. It has been wonderful. We have had a lot of fun learning and watching our little peanut grow.

Here are some links to photo albums of the peanut and us, just to see how she looks and how she has grown.

Those are just a small sampling of the many photos we have. But I figured you all had more to do then look at photos.

Also Miss Elz's is having an event coming up! Her baby blessing : ). For those who are unfamilar a baby blessing it is an ordnance done in the LDS church that is done to add a child's name to the records of the church. This is so the baby is accounted for within the church, it does not however make them LDS that is only done through baptism and that can not be done until after the age of 8. This is a very special event for our family and we welcome all of our friends and family to come and witness this event. We understand that due to the date that most will not be able to attend however we wanted to let everyone know that they are welcome.

It will be held at the LDS church at 4075 Riverside Ave Anderson, CA @ 9am on Dec. 26th. Like we said we know because  of the date most can  not attend but we welcome all. Please email if you think you can make it.

Lastly we hope that the hiatus of the blog should be over and hopefully you will hear from us more often. We love you all thank you for all of your love support and gifts. We know that thank yous for the babies gifts and support but we are terrible at that stuff and they may not go out we are grateful for them all and we love them all. Also we wish you all a Merry Christmas and warmest wishes for the new year.

Bed Rest and Baby Showers in a box

So it is official....after a non-stress test on Tuesday I was put on bedrest because my blood pressure was too high. Well...first they took me to labor and delivery and ran a bunch of test then they decided I could go home on bed rest.

Well I had a follow up this morning with the doctor...and my blood pressure was higher this time and I had a little protein in my urine (for those who don't know that is bad). So they have decided to put a fork in me... I am set to induce tomorrow. I *think* I am excited. I am glad to have an end in sight but at the same time I don't know. It is a lot all at once.

Just so everyone knows I feel fine...I don't feel sick at all just bored out of my mind sitting at home all day. The doctor thinks that the GingerPea is ok too..she is moving around and kicking away. They have just decided that it is better to be safe then sorry in these types of situations. That is ok with me although the original Pea is a little stressed I think he is happy about it too...it is hard to tell sometimes. I just think he wants it all over with so we can move on to the next chapter.

In other news I had a wonderful surprise yesterday. My friends from afar got together without my knowledge and put together a 'Baby Shower in a Box' It totally made my day. It was nice on the I feel locked up and the world hates me day to have a surprise.  I even put it all out so you could see most of it although the pic isn't great due to being taken by my camera on my cellphone.

We appreciate all of your love and support and look forward to putting pictures of the GingerPea up when she comes. Oh, and Last chance for guesses on size time and name.

Ready to Pop

So it is official.... I am FULL TERM!

But no baby yet. The doctor said for the past 2 weeks I am 70% effaced and 2 cm dilated. The GingerPea is sitting camping as looow as she can...

In fact I am sure if she went any lower she would just fall out.

The doctor was measuring me on Thursday and he said that his guess is that she will be 7pd 14oz when she comes out. He then asked how big I was...so I look at him and say umm?? All of my Mom's kids were 9-10pds......awkward silence......'oh Hell'.....then he apologized and said hopefully that doesn't happen to me.All I could do is giggle. Sorry Mom.

In other news because I am 'high risk' they have put a Pop date on me....so if this GingerPea doesn't come willingly they will encourage her out on Oct 5th. A lot longer than I thought he would let me go...but that is good right?

We are mostly all ready now. We have hospital bags packed and most everything washed and put away...a few loose ends to tie up here or there but nothing to bad. I am ready to be done because well the 'comfortable' feelings left completely about 2 weeks ago....I have tried to encourage this girl out but alas...she is her mothers child.

Just for the last here are some Maternity Pics we had done....at this great little photo shop south of us. Enjoy! If anyone wanted to see the full set you can go to myfotofly.com  UN: 2010449Pomazal

Baby Showers, Baseball, & Big Belly.....oh and a Birthday

So it has been a little while since I have updated but fear not.... I have had lots of fun in my absence.

Over the last few weeks I have been busy busy busy. I was in California for 2 weeks visiting my lovely family. During that time, we had 2 fun baby showers and one fun family celebration.

First for the showers, thank you to my family my Aunt Buddie, Grandmie and Kat for throwing a fun shindig in Sacramento, and My Moms Sharon & Debbie, as well as all my little sisters Emily, Alex, & Tyra for doing one up north in Redding. It was Great! I have lots of fun pics.

A few notes, the cakes you see pictured were done by my mom, my sis Em and I (varying amounts for each cake but we did them together)

I put together a video slide show of the pics from the events so that it wasn't 5000 pics to scroll through.

Also at the end you will see on shot of Jason & I all oranged out. That was before the Giants game. The celebration! You see my family likes to do things all at once so when we were there we got tickets for everyone to the game because it was My birthday (Aug 31st ... 27 for those who asked) Emmers birthday (Sept 1st...she isn't a teen any more) Stevies birthday (Aug 31st....10 years my younger) and my Parents Anniversary (Aug 28th....28 years) so.... we thought we would celebrate in style.....our style of course so we went to a baseball game! It was great fun even though they lost we had a blast and Jason & I made the fan photo page...you can see us here

As far as updates on the little Pea go...she is well. Doc at last apt (last Tues) said she was measuring at the small end of normal. They judge this by measuring how big your belly gets, it should match the weeks you are pregnant. I was 34 weeks and the belly was 32 cm. So smaller than normal but not too small. Also I have been going to non stress tests 2x's a week for the last little while. A few fun facts....1. my belly holds lots of water right now 2. She has dropped, according to the one tech...she is quite low the pics on the slide show are from before but never you fear Jason & I are getting pics done on Sat so we will have a few fresh ones for ya then. 3. She has HAIR!! I know weird right? Apparently they can tell that from the ultrasounds they do... it looks like well fuz on her head now no saying it will stay but as of now she isn't bald. 4. The Pea is her daddies girl, she is a mover and a shaker....they are always impressed with how active she is...needless to say...I am not surprised her daddy never holds still. Other things oh we are first time parents who are jumpy so laugh as you may but we had a scare last Sat and thought my water broke so we went to the hospital only to be sent home...but I am preregistered now :) and well I feel a little dorky about it but alas such is life right?

Oh also the Braxton-Hicks have started and man alive they are fun. They are almost always triggered by walking but sometimes not and well lets go with they tickle. I guess luck favors the prepared so this is good preparation right? Also it is about that time we get to play the guessing game...of when she will come. As of right now here is what we know so that everyone has a fair playing field for guessing. Before I left for California I was dilated to 1.5 but not effaced. That was 3+ weeks ago. The doctor does not want me going much past 38 weeks... for those of you who can't remember I will be 36 this Sat. I am getting regular Braxton-Hicks...some don't hurt and go away fast....others on the other hand last for a few hours straight and can become quite painful. Oh and the original Pea ie...Jason doesn't have much hope for me making another week or so... now he has no reason medically just it is how he feels so weight that as you will. Lastly Grandma E. (ie my mom) said she isn't ready until the 25th so the little Gingerpea has to weight until then....oh and family history dictates that I will be late. My mom Grandma E. held all of her baby's long....like Loooong...I was induced 3x's before I came out.....I have always been one to make an entrance ... just sayin'. Also what is the fun of a game with no prize right? So....whomever guesses right will get a Certificate of good guessing mailed to them....handed off if they are local...maybe even a picture.

Closing thoughts for those who like pictures we will have lots for you in the coming weeks. Jason & I were supposed to have Auntie Em take some in Cali but due to some serious schedule changes and a broken camera *sad sigh* they didn't happen. So I scheduled a photo shoot at Photofly for this weekend before my final baby shower. Also because I am a deal junkie I have craigslist on my new phone and a local photo studio was looking for models for there new infant set....so I responded and the little Gingerpea will be getting her pictures done (free of charge) from here : http://www.rcphotographyutah.com/ we will also have a dvd and pic CD to keep. I am pretty excited about all of the fun stuff coming showers, pictures, Baby Gingerpea...more pictures. Anyways love you all.

9 Weeks Left!

So I am officially into single digits! Here is what that looks like in belly terms.

As you can see it equals quite large.

It feels like it is still forever away and yet sooo close. So far I am no more prepared than I was 2 weeks ago, except that I am done with Lamaze and I have a few more clothes.

There hasn't been to much that has changed except this little one can really kick now. She will shake the whole bed while I sleep if she feels like a dance. Also it has started to hurt a little when she kicks around, not all the time but at least 1 or 2x's a day she will get one just right and it will not feel great.

Lets see, oh Jason did take me camping. He works with the youth at church and they were having an over night camp and needed some leaders to help out so he thought it would be lots of fun. I took 2 pic's to prove that I went and it was camping. For anyone who doesn't know I don't camp ever, and for those of you who are sticklers about camping this was not in a tent and there were bathrooms with showers and everything. We stayed in Yurts, basically a cabin like structure that is octagonal instead of square. But I did have to use an air mattress so it was camping enough for me.

One last shout out is to my friends and family in California. I am quite excited to come see you in T-9 days! If anyone missed the memo I will be there from the 16th -29th. During that time there will be 2 showers and anyone who would like to come is welcome. 1 will be Aug 21st in Sacramento and 1 will be in Redding on Aug 25th *recent edit due to a mommy who has no brains mommy telling her she had the wrong date* if you want to come and haven't seen an invitation email me and I will make sure you get put on a list. Oh, and SLC peeps the shower will be the 11th of Sept at noonish so if you want an invitation please make sure I get your address or you won't get an invite.

Hope this finds you all well.... Hugs & Kicks

3rd Trimester.

So it is official I am now 28 weeks along. 3rd trimester.

Everyone says home stretch but honestly it doesn't feel that close yet. We don't really have any baby stuff yet just a few clothes I feel like if it were close well we would be prepared. But then how prepared are you when you are going to have a baby? I am pretty sure all the books in the world can't really convey what that is like.

So new for us...not to much. Our doc said that we are not growing a runt :) I guess that is good? It didn't sound as good when I thought about labor but then when I think about how coordinated I can be it sounded like the bigger probably meant more sturdy. Other than that...I failed my first glucose test so they did a second we await the results hopefully good. I do have a nice bruise from all the blood drawing now but that should go away soon.

I sleep less then ever mostly because comfort is harder and harder. Jason has been sooo nice as to make me a pillow recliner in our bed so I am more comfortable. I have a hip that likes to pop in and out so laying on it hurts and not laying on it makes it pop. So I now have a lovely recliner in bed. I have also learned that videos of birth just scare you. I don't feel more prepared from it just more sure I don't want a mirror. Other than that the class has been good, lots of cool things to learn mostly tid bits and tricks but some have really been helpful. Nothing earth shattering but I think in the end I am glad we did it.

Other than that we are pretty much the same, it is hot here. Very hot but our apartment is a fridge so not to much issue there I have a blanket most of the time. Oh and according to the work ladies I am now nice and round....but I still have a belly button so? Oh yes and since you asked here is a pic. Also a few pics from my baby shower with my cousins...it was wonderful and way fun.

6 Months

That is correct ladies and gents. We are now officially 6 months (23 weeks) along. I would say it is really starting to show too.

See (just for those who cared same shirt different color) I also put one of Jason sticking his belly out as far as he can so you can compare. Mine is a little

So new developments in the baby department. She is kicking and wiggling furiously. I have learned if she has a problem with how I am sitting or what I am wearing etc, she will kick until I change.  Someone asked if we thought she would be more like me or more like the Pea. We are voting me she is just as opinionated as they come and she isn't even out yet. The Pea has taken a liking to talking and poking her. He really hopes if he pokes enough she will do it back. Usually she will too.... I think that sometimes he forgets that I am in between all of this so when he pokes it pokes me too and then she pokes me in return. It isn't anything painful yet but every now and again I have to remind him that I am done with the poking for now or he would do it all day.

People have asked about cravings and changes that I have noticed in myself. Well other than the obvious large belly I am now forming. I do crave some things but really it isn't anything to bad. I do like the Slurpee's and chocolate milk. The only thing that I eat new now is eggs. That is right eggs, for those who didn't know the smell of them before would send me for the hills but now I will eat them. I can't say that I eat them all the time but I will eat them now. Other than that I have not had any major changes other than a few loose joints mostly in the hips. No swelling (knock on wood) and none of the other terrible things that are supposed to happen.

On the non baby front we finally have completely unpacked our new place. So for any of you who want to know what a tiny 1 bed apt looks like in UT enjoy the tour. It is just over 600 sq ft. so I am pretty sure the only one who has us beat right now is our fam. in France. But hey when you live in France it isn't so bad I mean it isn't UT.

Hope you enjoy the tour.

Belly & Baby Pic's

So it has taken a few days longer because of the move but they are finally here the newest Ginger Pea pics & a pic of how big my belly is currently.

A few interesting things that have happened recently is Jason can now fell her move around. I am sure others could too if I let them burrow into my belly like he tries to but I don't so for everyone else...soon. Also I have noticed more and more that this girl does not hold still. Infact she is dancing around all the time and I am pretty sure one of her favorite things is to use my bladder as a trampoline. Also I have noticed now that she moves from side to side and well it feels pretty odd. Because kicking is just a little jab but when she shifts it feels like my  whole mass goes with her, very strange.

Some other things that  I have noticed is well heartburn is no fun...and no matter what you eat (and trust me I eat a lot) you get it and dizziness is apparently part of the territory that the doc said well....that doesn't get better. Also did anyone know how many birthing classes there are out there? I mean really how am I supposed to know which one to choose? If anyone has suggestions I am open we found one that sounds good just the traditional Lamaze class but mostly because of convenience of schedule and lack of any knowledge of which one to pick...

Alright I am going on and on....

Here are the pics

A good profile one of her

A cool one that shows her heart and heart beat

(which I might add is HALF WAY!!)

Mulitple Middle Names and Belly Talk

So things have been progressing as usual. I am starting to really show. In fact we just moved and at the new church building people were more than willing to ask when I was due....so yeah for me...I am no longer pudgy I actually look pregnant enough for people to ask....

So we have been considering the idea of 2 middle names. In fact we are pretty sure we have decided on a name but for now we are not telling....anyways what do you all think of 2 middle names? I really like it but I was looking for some others perspective on the matter...

Also a fun new thing that Jason has picked up...he now has formed a habit of talking making faces at and kissing my belly...mostly it is about the cutest thing ever but occasionally when my sweet husband doesn't shave it just tickles. I think he likes it best when he presses his face on my tummy and he gets a little kick in the cheek. Ok I know he loves that the best...he gets so excited. She is still pretty little so he only feels it every now and again but it really makes him happy.

On the last note we are getting some new baby pics tomorrow so I will try to have those up by the end of the week with a belly pic...I swear...I ordered a few cute shirts online so that I can have one to stick with for the duration...

Oh and for those not on facebook a pic of an 18 week pregnant lady with her sweet husband

Time to vote

Ok ladies and gents time to vote on what you think we are having. . . We should find out by end of next week latest so we need the tally soon. Make sure you only vote 1x per person please.

There is a poll listed right where you can see it so let the voting begin!

We are havin a baby

That is right all. . . It has finally happened. After years of trying and drugs it worked. Many of you already know we are expecting our first child on Oct. 9, 2010 (although I am secretly hoping for 10/10/10) because the date looks cooler. Just for the non math inclined that makes me 16 weeks along roughly. We are very excited to share this journey with all of you and hope you enjoy getting regular updates on us.

Just because we don't have any new ones yet. Here is the pic of the baby. . . don't worry all new ones are coming soon....and oh yeah we should find out the gender in no time . .
